Family Lion in Ndutu by Bokari Safari feb 2011

I did this safari with my client Francisco Ramirez in February, 2011, for one amazing night in Ndutu. You do not need luck to see a family of lions like this, you only need your most knowledgeable guide from Bokari Safari. What Bokari knows is your guarantee to see this.

Bokari safari Tarangire National Park. Male Giraffe chewing baobab fruit

It is not easy to see this giraffe at the back of the baobab tree as it uses its long tongue to catch fruit at the top branches, but with your experienced guide from Bokari Safari, your dream will come true.

Good-Bye, Old Friend!

I led many safaris with this car, but the owner no longer keeps it. Now that I am a private tour guide, I arrange for rental vehicles for each trip. If you wish to follow my trail or want to support me in getting my own safari car or help with ideas, you are welcome to contact me.

The Rare Black Rhino!

It is very difficult to see the black rhino, a shy animal that is also critically endangered. But we were in luck after our 3-hour descent into the Ngorongoro Crater. I drove for about 30 minutes longer, and then we saw a female black rhino with her baby, very near to our car as they started to cross the road. Sighting a black rhino is a very rare experience! When you travel with a seasoned safari guide like Bokari, you don't have to count on luck; I know the best conditions and locations for spotting black rhino and other wildlife of the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti Plain.

Cheetah Family in the Heart of the Serengeti

It is very rare to see cheetah in Ndutu, especially a mother with cubs, unless you have a highly skilled guide like Bokari. We saw this family on the second day of my game drive in the Ndutu plain. After a long drive, I stopped in a good location to look for cheetah, and there they were! The best season to see cheetahs is between February and May, because the migratory herds of wildebeest and buffalo stop here to feed on the fresh grass that grows after short and long rains. All the predators—lion, cheetah, hyena and black backed jackal—are very active as they hunt, especially early morning and evening. Also, if you like birds, including water birds, Ndutu is the best at this time.

Happy Land Rovers

Jasinta and her friend are very happy on their Safari with Bokari! They enjoy traveling in the comfort of this Land Rover. Many clients return for additional safaris with Bokari, because they appreciate my expertise and attention to detail.

The Grateful Buffalo

One of the advantages to being an expert safari guide is the opportunity to assist the wildlife. This male buffalo was mud bathing in the crater rim, and discovered he could not get out. He sunk into this well and I decided to try to help. At first, I got out of my car, but I worried about my life. In the end, I gently pushed him with my safari car and he was able to go on his way. But, I am not sure I heard him say "thank you."

Picnic at the Crater

During a 10-day trip, this day was particularly beautiful, so my client and I decided to stop at the Ngoitokitok Springs picnic site and have lunch. While we sat, we enjoyed not only our meal, but also terrific views of birds and hippopotamus.

Crater Floor

As you ascend from the Ngorongoro Crater, be sure to stop at the view point just after the last small gate and take a look. You will see a breathtaking scene as the crater spreads out before you. When you go on safari with Bokari, this scene, and many more special experiences, are yours!
